It goes without saying that face cleansing should be a regular habit among people, as it is the most sensitive external part of our body. Our face is exposed to a number of air particles throughout the day; so naturally, it needs regular cleansing. Just like everything else in this world, there is a limit to it. How many times a face should be cleansed in a day? Since our faces are exposed to particles like pollutants and free radicals, we must make sure that it stays clean, most of the day. According to experts, accumulation of such particles can cause the damaging of collagen and elastin fibre, which could lead to premature face maturation.

Why is face cleansing important?

Regularly washing your face maintains the health of the skin. Face cleansing at night could help with anti-aging, while cleaning your face in the day removes dead skin cells, a result of overnight accumulation.

One must keep in mind that washing your face frequently could damage the sweat glands on the skin. That damage could lead to pimples and skin irritation. So, those who have a normal to oily skin type, can wash their face twice a day. If you feel that your skin is too oily, you can wash your face three times a day. While people who have sensitive or dry skin, should restrict themselves to washing their faces once a day. Remember that a face wash should only be used according to your skin type.

After any occasion or event, remember to clean the makeup with a good cleanser and use a face wash to clean it thoroughly. Neglecting it after applying makeup can cause acne.

According to an expert, if you are suffering from the condition of acne and avoid cleansing your face regularly, it could result in more severe acne. Even if an individual is staying in for the day, they should not hit the bed without a thorough face cleanse.
