Lord Hanuman is also called by the name of Sankat Mochan which means reliever of troubles. It is believed among the Hindu community that worshipping lord Hanuman helps one to overcome all kinds of difficulties in life. Every year, Chaitra Purnima and Hanuman Jayanti are celebrated on the same day. According to mythological beliefs, Lord Hanuman’s incarnation took place on this day. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman.

This year, Hanuman Jayanti is set to be celebrated on April 23. An astrologer of Pal Balaji Jyotish Sansthan, Dr Anish Vyas mentioned that Lord Hanuman was born on the auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanti. He also stated that the day of his birth was Tuesday and that is the reason every Tuesday special rituals worshipping lord Hanuman are performed. The occasion of Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon day of Chaitra Month. According to Dr Vyas, Lord Hanuman was the son of Anjana and Kesari. He is also the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva.

While talking with Local 18, Dr Anish Vyas mentioned that this year this auspicious day is set to be celebrated on April 23, 2024. The Vajra Yoga will start on the morning of April 23 and continue till 4:57 am on April 24. The Chaitra Nakshatra is set to start on the morning of April 23 and continue till 10:32 pm on the same day, following which the Swati Nakshatra will begin. According to Dr Vyas, the auspicious hours for worshipping Hanuman Ji on this day will be from 9:03 AM to 10:41 AM. On this day the Brahma Muhurat will be from 4.20 am to 05.04 pm while Abhijit Muhurta will be from 11.53 am to 12.46 pm.

The expert further stated that, as Lord Hanuman was born during sunrise, performing the puja during the Brahma Muhurta is considered holy. He further mentioned that Lord Hanuman should be offered with sindoor and Chola. Offering Jasmine oil to Lord Hanuman is believed to be holy.

In addition, Lord Hanuman should be worshipped with Gulal, Akshat flowers, etc while lighting up oil lamps or dias. Devotees should read Hanuman Chalisa, Sundarkand and Hanuman Aarti mantras during the Aarti. Following the conclusion of Aarti, the Prasad should be distributed among the devotees.
