The festival of Akshaya Tritiya holds great importance in Hinduism. It is considered an auspicious and favourable occasion to start any new work, as well as buying items of gold and silver. Some devotees may not be able to buy such valuable items due to financial constraints. A renowned astrologer gives insight into what can be bought instead of gold and silver for blessings.

This year, Akshaya Tritiya is going to be celebrated on May 10, an occasion where buying gold and silver is deemed favourable. Renowned astrologer Pandit Nandkishore Mudgal from Mudgal Jyotish Center, Pagal Baba Ashram in Deoghar says that Goddess Lakshmi is pleased with the gold and silver purchase. However, since this is the time of inflation, not everyone can buy gold.

According to the astrologer, other things can be bought to please Goddess Lakshmi on this auspicious day. These are:

Yellow Mustard and Barley-

These grains are used to worship the Goddess on Akshaya Tritiya. So, make sure to buy these things.

Cowrie-

Devotees must get cowries and offer it on the feet of Goddess Lakshmi. Then on the second day, store some of it on a red cloth and keep that cloth in a safe. It is believed to ensure an economic boom.

An Earthen Pitcher-

Getting an earthen pitcher in your homes on this day pleases Goddess Lakshmi. As per the beliefs, it increases happiness and prosperity in homes.

Conch Shell:

The devotee can also bring a conch shell and offer it to Lord Vishnu’s feet, by doing so the Lord and Goddess Lakshmi are pleased. Furthermore, it ensures happiness in your house.

Sri Yantra:

Get a Sri Yantra and keep it where the worship is to take place. Through this, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi’s divine abode will stay in your house.
