Kylian Mbappe played his final home game for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at Parc des Princes on Monday when they hosted Toulouse FC in a Ligue 1 fixture.

Ahead of the match, Mbappe reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

The French superstar is set to leave the club at the end of this season and has already conveyed his decision to the club officials.

Following his departure from the French giants, Mbappe is widely speculated to join Real Madrid, ending a saga that has dominated the European transfer market for quite some time now.

According to a report by Le Parisien, Nasser asked Mbappe why he ignored his name in the farewell speech.

A few days ago, Mbappe had released a video where he spoke about his time at PSG.

Mbappe acknowledged the support of the fans while also extending his gratitude to all his teammates, staff and managers who have been at the helm since 2017.

The world cup winner, however, did not mention the name of Nasser in his official farewell message, which didn’t go down well with the PSG chief.

Nasser called a meeting with Mbappe, seeking clarification on it.

It reportedly took place at the Parc des Princes, merely an hour before the Toulouse game.

Though it was slated to be a formal discussion, their tone reportedly rose quickly, making the situation worse with the duo involved in a screaming match.

Mbappe also had to digest whistles and boos from PSG fans when his name was announced before the Toulouse game. He opened the scoring in the eighth minute but the hosts ended up suffering a 3-1 defeat in the league fixture.

Mbappe will return to action when PSG square off against Nice in a Ligue 1 game at Allianz Riviera on May 16. As far as his Real Madrid deal is concerned, the Spanish giants are expected to announce his signing following the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, scheduled to be played on June 2.
