Meta is bringing its range of product updates, including AI tools and Meta Verified, for WhatsApp businesses in India and other countries. This announcement was made during the Conversations event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the company explained that these features will offer businesses additional options on WhatsApp.

According to Meta, these services will initially be available in India, as well as Brazil, Indonesia, and Colombia, with plans to expand to more countries in the future. Interested parties can get these services through subscription plans starting at $14 (Rs 1,162 approx) per month.

Meta had also previously launched its verification program last year, which has now been extended to businesses on Facebook and Instagram.

Apart from AI tools and Meta Verified, the company will also provide additional features for businesses by allowing call ability on WhatsApp.

AI Features, Meta Verified For WhatsApp Business

According to the company, the AI tools, Meta Verified, and Call A Business features will enhance the way people and businesses connect and work on WhatsApp.

1. AI Tools for WhatsApp Business: Meta's AI tools are there to help businesses offer assistance to customers and help them discover new products and services. They are also introducing new ways to use AI to quickly answer common questions. On top of that, Meta is integrating AI into creating ads for Instagram or Facebook, which will help businesses better follow up with customers.

2. Meta Verified for WhatsApp Business: Meta is introducing the verified badge feature for WhatsApp businesses. A badge means the business has registered its information with Meta and is receiving impersonation protection. While those with Meta Verified will receive extra account support from the company, they can also use WhatsApp across various devices for their employees. Users will also see the badge on the channels and custom pages of the WhatsApp businesses.

3. Calling for WhatsApp Business: In a recent update, Meta is adding a new feature to WhatsApp that allows users to call larger businesses directly. This feature is especially useful for complex inquiries like travel arrangements or banking needs, where a quick phone call can provide the best assistance. Currently, the company is testing this feature and plans to roll it out to more businesses in the upcoming months.
