Apple is hosting its first major event of 2024 in the form of the Let Loose launch on May 7 which is around 24 hours from now. It has been widely tipped to be the event where we finally get to see the new iPad Pro 2024 and the iPad Air 2024 models, along with some more devices.

Earlier it was said that Apple is unlikely to have an event to launch iPads but those rumours can be put to rest. The May 7 event is getting a different telecast time which suggests the company is eyeing a different viewership, unlike the iPhone launch event which starts later in the evening.

Apple Let Loose May 7 iPad Launch Event: What We Know And Expect

For the longest time, rumours hinted that Apple will power the iPad Pro 2024 with M3 chipset and the iPad Air upgraded from M1 to M2 this year. Now, reports have sprung a big surprise, which will even have a dose of AI for future iPad buyers.

Apple is basically ready to push the M4 processors on the new iPads, which comes with a built-in neural engine that gives you the AI push on the slates. The report doesn’t tell us if the M4 boost will be offered on the iPad Pro and Air or just the Pro model. The iPad Air is generally placed lower in the lineup so it is possible that Apple gives it the M3 instead, which is not a bad deal at all.

These two iPad models could be lining up along with a new version of the Apple Pencil and a new-look Magic Keyboard that will look to build on the functionality of the 12.9-inch iPad models and pair it with iPadOS for the best results. The Apple Pencil 3 will have new haptic feedback and gesture support which could really push the use case of the Apple stylus, not only on the Pro but the Air model as well.

APPLE 2024 IPAD PRO AND AIR LAUNCH PRICE EXPECTED

Upgrading the iPad Pro with an OLED display could really push its price this year, which doesn’t much for the model which is already priced in the high-end. Having a new 12.9-inch iPad Air will also help Apple to push the starting range of the new models, but we are hoping the price of the M1 iPad Air comes down which allows more people to upgrade rather than spending on the new, pricier 2024 iPad models.
