WhatsApp will be rolling out a new feature soon that allows users to instantly react and reply to the images and videos shared on the social media platform. This new feature is currently in the testing phase. Right now, the only way to react to an image or video during a conversation is via swiping it right or long tapping on it and choosing your reaction. Now, with the new feature, a ‘Reply’ bar will appear when viewing any media files during a conversation and the users can react to the file directly from it with ease.

According to WaBetaInfo, this feature is currently in the beta testing phase and is only available to selected users who have downloaded the most recent WhatsApp Beta version for Android 2.23.20.20.

The three main advantages of the upcoming functions are such as:

1. It allows users to quickly respond to the image or video without leaving the current screen.

2. Makes it easy to keep the conversation flowing and avoid losing the meaning of the shared content.

3. It will eliminate unnecessary interruptions while viewing a media file.

As per a screenshot shared by WaBetaInfo of the upcoming feature, while viewing an image during a conversation a new reply bar is going to appear to directly reply to the media. In case the users just want to react with an emoji, they can simply click on the round emoticon icon on the right side of the ‘Reply’ bar and choose your choice of emoticon.

Are you also waiting for this new update?

WhatsApp developers have recently added numerous new features to their social media app. This includes an option to Pin up to 3 messages per chat, passkey support for iPhone users, and also chat filters for finding important messages in the conversation.

Earlier in January this year, it was reported that WhatsApp is working on developing a new theme feature for Apple users. The update allows all the users to choose a default theme color of their choice for the app from a selection of five different colors including green, white, blue, coral, and purple to choose from.
