Glue In Pizza, Obama Is Muslim: Google Already Facing Major Errors From Search AI

Google said it has learnt from its mistakes and the new AI version of Search will show its value to millions. Few days after the feature started rolling out, people realised that AI Search is not only riddled with incorrect results but some absurd thinking has come up on the internet that has people puzzled. The company claimed that Search AI will help users summarise the results to make it easy for them to browse through the content without opening multiple links.

Glue On Pizza, Obama Is Muslim: Google Acts As AI Backlash Heats Up

The AI Search scrutiny started a few days back, when people were getting results like adding glue to cheese so that it sticks on the pizza. Or another health suggestion from the AI Search was to eat at least one small rock per day as a vital source of minerals.

Things didn’t end there, as the Search AI version then suggested that former US President Barack Obama is Muslim, which is not true. Instances like these can leave any company egg-faced, but when you have a giant like Google facing these issues, the concerns are top of everyone’s mind.

Google has reportedly acted on these results by removing them as they violate Google’s policies, which is one of trying to hide behind the mishaps of your latest AI model. The company does indicate that the Search AI version is experimental, but at least the model needs to get the basic stuff right, and not faff inaccurate details which people might end up believing.

Taking down those results is the only move that Google could make but changes are warranted if it doesn’t want more embarrassment from the AI Search version.

Google has a lot riding on its AI plans, especially since many people have lost their jobs to the technology and with more to come in the near future. It also needs AI to evolve and give the right results as it faces intense challenges from OpenAI, Microsoft and very soon Apple as well.
