Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited the Prime Ministers of Nepal, Bangladesh and Mauritius, the President of Sri Lanka and the King of Bhutan for his swearing-in ceremony later this week, people familiar with the developments told CNN-News18 on Wednesday.
PM Modi invited Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina, Nepali counterpart Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth for the swearing in ceremony. Also invited are Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Druk Gyalpo Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
Earlier on Wednesday, PM Modi thanked each of the aforementioned leaders after they congratulated him on NDA’s electoral success in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
In a series of tweets, he also said that he held a telephone call with the aforementioned leaders.

He said he spoke to Bhutanese King, Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mauritian counterpart Pravind Kumar Jugnauth.

Meanwhile, global leaders US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and dozens of other leaders congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on NDA’s electoral victory.
