As the train approaches, the child ducks down while the woman remains standing. In a horrific turn of events, the train’s engine strikes the woman on the back of her head as she drops to one knee, ultimately causing her demise. The shocked child flees the scene as a bystander rushes to pull the victim away from the passing train.

The ‘Empress’, officially known as Canadian Pacific 2816, is a historic steam locomotive built in 1930. As part of the Final Spike Steam Tour, it embarked on a journey across Canada, the US, and Mexico, commemorating a significant merger that led to the creation of Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). After the incident, the tour will conclude in Mexico City on Friday amid this somber incident.

The CPKC, responsible for the tour, expressed deep regret over the woman’s death and assured cooperation with authorities in the ensuing investigation. They issued a statement urging caution to those near railway tracks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe distance of at least 10 meters.
