An Austria-based company called Migaloo is developing a massive superyacht for visionary billionaires. The most intriguing feature of the yacht is that it can remain submerged underwater for over four weeks.

According to a report by the New York Post, Migaloo has revealed its plans for Migaloo M5, which will be the world’s first and so far only private submersible superyacht, offering an alternative to large privately owned surface vessels that do not yet exist.

”The wished dimensions of the submarine-yacht hybrid, the exterior styling and the interior design are up to the owners’ preferences,” the publication quoted Migaloo officials as saying.

What Are The Features of Migaloo M5 Submarine?

Migaloo M5 would measure 165.8 meters in length and 23 meters across at its widest point, with a range of around 15,000 kilometres and a speed of up to 20 knots when surfaced (or 12 knots underwater).

The submarine will be equipped to accommodate at least 20 passengers and 40 crew members. It can dive to a depth of 820 feet (250 metres), and stay submerged for four weeks.

The company also said that customisation for customers is also available on the yacht.

Spa, Pool & Helipad: Migaloo M5 To Offer Premium Luxury Services

Migaloo, on its website, said that the yacht will also consist of luxury premium facilities such as a helipad, a swimming pool and spa, a gym, an art gallery cinema, and a party area with a DJ booth, along with plenty of spaces to lounge or dine.

There will also be optional extras including a hot air balloon and underwater shark-feeding station, the company website added.

As far as the safety and protection of the seacraft is concerned, the company said that it collaborated with the US security experts SAFE to promise a level of protection that ”even James Bond would envy.”

“Superyacht as the epitome of security, autonomy, self-reliance and an embodiment of absolute freedom. MIGALOO Private Submersible Fortresses are more than a means of escape; they are a symbol of resilience and preparedness,” the website stated.

Notably, while there is no estimated cost as every project in the yacht is fully custom designed, reports suggested that the estimate for the Migaloo M5 is about $2 billion.
