The Hindu religion comprises many traditions and beliefs the believers have followed since time immemorial. Devotees believe these beliefs should be adhered to stay mentally and physically fit. According to one such belief, people should not get their hair cut on specific days. Failing to follow these rules can lead to negative implications on the financial situation of an individual. In an interview with the Local 18 Madhya Pradesh, Ujjain’s astrologer Ravi Shukla has described the days that are believed to be auspicious and unlucky for hair cut. As per the astrologer-

1. Monday- Parents should avoid getting a haircut on Monday, as this is believed to fill their child’s life with many difficulties.

2. Tuesday- In the Hindu religion and scriptures, Tuesday is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Due to this occasion, it is not considered a good omen to get a haircut on Tuesday. This act done on Tuesday is also believed to reduce a devotee’s lifespan.

3. Thursday- Thursday is also believed to bring wrath on those who opt for a haircut. As per popular belief, doing so leads to the weakening of Jupiter, one of the planets in astrology. Therefore, people have to deal with unforeseen problems in their life.

4. Saturday- Saturday is dedicated to Shani Dev, known as the God of justice, and a popular deity that Hindus pray to ward off obstacles in life. People should not go for a haircut on Saturday as it is believed to displease the Shani Dev. This can also have devastating consequences on health and finances.

5. Sunday- Sunday, being a holiday for most people, is considered a suitable day to go out for a haircut. However, as per the astrologer, despite this advantage, people should not go for a haircut. Not doing so can hamper someone’s self-confidence and their options for making progress in life. It is also believed to harm the health.

According to Ravi Shukla, the devotees should choose Wednesday and Friday for getting their hair cut.

Wednesday- Wednesday is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and thus every work done on this day is auspicious.

Friday- Getting a haircut on this day, dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, is also believed to be a good omen.
