Tadkewala Beetroot Chaas Recipe: Beat The Heat With This Healthy Summer Drink

Chaas, also known as buttermilk, is a light and refreshing Indian beverage that has been enjoyed for centuries, especially during the scorching summer months. From Masala Chaas to Cucumber Chaas, this drink offers a delightful combination of freshness, tanginess, and subtle flavours, making it a popular choice for people of all ages to beat the heat and quench one’s thirst. If you are bored of plain white chaas, then fret not. Popular chef Sanjeev Kapoor has come up with a delicious solution. This summer, add a twist to your chaas with beetroot and make your days happening and tasty. This summer beverage features the earthy flavours of beetroot along with yoghurt. For the peppery kick, you can add cumin powder, green chillies, and ginger. The chef took to Instagram to share a recipe for Tadkewala Beetroot Chaas, which is definitely a must-try this season. Posting the delightful clip, he wrote, “Add a yummy twist to your chaas with beetroot and make your healthy sips healthy and refreshing!”

To prepare this delectable beverage, you will need these ingredients:

Boiled Beetroot

Chilled Yoghurt

Chilled Water

Ghee

Cumin seeds

Ginger

Green Chillies

Mint Leaves

Coriander

Ice cubes

Step-by-step Process to make Beetroot Chaas:

Step 1: Start by boiling some beetroot.

Step 2: In a blending jar, add the boiled beetroot and chilled yoghurt.

Step 3: Blitz it well till you get a puree-like consistency.

Step 4: Empty it in a bowl and mix it with some more chilled yoghurt and chilled water until it is all well combined.

Step 5: Now, it’s time to add tadka to your chaas. For this, add some ghee to a pan.

Step 6: Add cumin seeds, finely chopped ginger, and green chillies to it.

Step 7: Add this tadka to the beetroot and yoghurt mixture and whisk it well. Top it with some mint leaves and finely chopped coriander leaves on top.

Step 8: Finally, put some ice cubes in a glass and pour the chilled chaas into it. Garnish it with some fresh mint leaves and voila, your flavorful, chilled, and amazing chaas is ready to be enjoyed!
