The devotees should meditate on the goddess Ganga and then bathe in the Ganga river. During this time, the devotees should maintain the purity of their minds. One should not have any impure thoughts while bathing in the river on Ganga Dussehra. They should not throw any havan or puja material in the river, on this day. Immersing bones in the river is also forbidden on this day.
