Apple has confirmed its May 7 Let Loose event where we most likely will be seeing the new iPad Pro and the iPad Air models along with the Apple Pencil 3 version. The company was not expected to have a launch event for the iPads but it has gone ahead and did so, but once again it will be a virtual affair. However, there is a lot of excitement around what the new iPads will look like and what it will offer in terms of hardware.

For the longest time, rumours hinted that Apple will power the iPad Pro 2024 with M3 chipset and the iPad Air upgraded from M1 to M2 this year. Now, reports have sprung a big surprise, which will even have a dose of AI for future iPad buyers.

Apple iPad Pro And iPad Air 2024 Launch: What’s The Latest Update?

Apple is basically ready to push the M4 processors on the new iPads, which comes with a built-in neural engine that gives you the AI push on the slates. The report doesn’t tell us if the M4 boost will be offered on the iPad Pro and Air or just the Pro model. The iPad Air is generally placed lower in the lineup so it is possible that Apple gives it the M3 instead, which is not a bad deal at all.

We already know that Apple will have a big segment for AI at the WWDC 2024 keynote in June and iOS 18 is shaping up to be a big upgrade but it seems iPadOS 18 will also get its share of AI features.

The report from Bloomberg also points out that Apple will announce the M4-powered MacBooks, Macs and iMac sometime in October. It also suggests the Apple Pencil 3 will have new haptic feedback and gesture support which could really push the use case of the Apple stylus, not only on the Pro but the Air model as well.

We’re less than 10 days away from the big Apple iPad event and we can’t wait to see what the company is planning for its new iPads.
