Porsche has introduced the 2025 Porsche 911 Facelift globally, focusing on the Carrera and GTS trims. The update brings subtle exterior design changes and new cabin features, but the significant update is the introduction of hybrid technology in the powertrain.

Porsche 911 Hybrid Launch Date and Price

The new 911 Carrera (both coupe and Cabriolet) and Carrera GTS are now available for global orders and are anticipated to arrive in India by late 2024 or early 2025. Following the 911's transition to hybrid technology, the smaller 718 model will also adopt electrification. Currently, the T-Hybrid powertrain is exclusive to the GTS, with additional hybrid variants expected to follow. Upon its launch in India, the hybrid 911 is expected to be priced higher than the current 911 Carrera, starting at INR 1.86 crore (ex-showroom), and will compete with the Ferrari 296 GTB.

Hybrid Powertrain: A New Era for the Porsche 911

The 2025 Porsche 911 GTS now features a 3.6L turbocharged 6-cylinder boxer engine paired with an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed PDK transmission. This hybrid setup provides a combined output of 541 BHP and 610 Nm, significantly higher than the previous non-hybrid model. The electric motor itself contributes 15 HP and 150 Nm.

With this new powertrain, the 911 GTS can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 312 kmph. The improved performance also translates to a faster Nurburgring lap time, now 7.17 seconds, shaving off 8.7 seconds from the outgoing model's record. However, the inclusion of the 400V battery pack adds 50 kilos to the vehicle's weight.

Porsche 911: Updated Carrera Engine

The Carrera variant features a newly rebuilt 3.0L twin-turbocharged boxer engine, producing 394 HP and 450 Nm. Additionally, it now includes an intercooler borrowed from the 911 Turbo, enhancing its performance.

The GTS trim comes standard with rear-wheel steering and PASM sport suspension, making it 10 mm lower than the Carrera. The Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control remains an optional feature. The GTS also benefits from wider tires and drag-reducing wheels for better handling.

Porsche 911: Exterior and Interior Updates

The 2025 Porsche 911 boasts new LED Matrix headlamps and an updated bumper. The GTS model features larger active aero flaps on the front bumper and a new connected tail lamp cluster with a variable spoiler at the rear. The GTS also includes a sport exhaust system.

Inside, the 911 offers a 12.6-inch curved display instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch infotainment unit that provides easy access to drive modes and music apps. The infotainment system can stream videos when the car is parked. Buyers can choose between a 2-seat layout or a 2+2 configuration for the cabin.

With these updates, Porsche continues to blend performance and practicality, ensuring the 911 remains a top choice for enthusiasts and daily drivers alike.
