Bajaj expands electric portfolio with Chetak 2901, price starts at INR 95 998

Bajaj Auto Ltd., a leading 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler company, has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the introduction of Chetak 2901 priced at INR95, 998 (ex-showroom, Bangalore).

The Chetak 2901 now comes in Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue colour variants.

Chetak possesses distinct advantages such as a robust metal body and advanced technological features has firmly positioned itself in the electric scooter market. Bajaj Auto is now democratizing access to its range of electric Chetak scooters, making it an attractive offering for both, ICE vehicle and electric vehicle riders. This aims to appeal to consumers who value an elegant, durable, and feature-rich scooter without breaking the bank.

The new Chetak 2901 e-scooter with a range of 123 km (ARAI-certified) has a solid metal body for durability and comes in three colours: Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue, the company said.

Additional Features: The Chetak 2901 comes equipped with additional features such as Coloured Digital Console, Alloy Wheels, and Bluetooth Connectivity, to enhance rider comfort and convenience. Customers can choose to upgrade these features with the TecPac. The TecPac enables features such as Hill Hold, Reverse, Sport and Economy modes, Call and Music Control, Follow Me Home lights and Bluetooth App connectivity.

Chetak's expanded portfolio caters to a broad spectrum of customer preferences. It appeals to both, a rider seeking a reliable daily commute (Chetak 2901) or a tech-conscious rider desiring a fully loaded electric scooter (Chetak Premium) Additionally, all variants of the Chetak portfolio, can be further enhanced with the purchase of the TecPac. The add-on unlocks spectacular functionalities like app connectivity, call management, music control, geo-fencing for security, and access to ride modes, personalizing the elegant ride with Chetak catering to your needs.

The Chetak 2901 is designed, specced and priced to attract customers who are currently purchasing a petrol scooter to a proper full size metal body electric scooter that can match and exceed a petrol scooter, without denting their wallet. The Chetak 2901 can be had for an on-road price close to that of a petrol scooter and comes with more than 123 km of ARAI certified range. Retails to consumers shall start from 15 June onwards. We believe Chetak 2901 shall dramatically expand the electric scooter market.``

Bookings for the new Chetak 2901 are open now at the company website. Customers can also visit the nearest showroom for product details, test rides and bookings.

Chetak Premium, Chetak Urbane, and Chetak 2901have received approval for the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) subsidy from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI). Bajaj Auto Ltd. is part of the Government of India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Electric Vehicles, the company said.
