Auto veteran Nirmal Nair to join Stellantis as Head of Sales and Marketing for India-Asia Pacific

New Delhi: Nirmal Nair, a veteran in auto marketing and sales, will join Stellantis as Head of Sales and Marketing for India-Asia Pacific, the company confirmed ETAuto. He will report to Ashwani Muppasani. Nair, who had spent 14 years in Nissan, took to LinkedIn to inform about his stepping down from Nissan, as VP Marketing and Sales.

“After 14 remarkable years, during which I had the privilege of working with and leading teams across 8 diverse roles in 5 countries across 2 continents, it’s time to close this significant chapter in my life,” Nair said in his LinkedIn post.

In Nissan, Nair started his career in 2010, as Marketing Operations Manager- Nissan Europe, and within 4 years he was promoted as Marketing Director- Product Launch, where he served for 3 years. He was promoted as General Manager, Marketing Strategy and Planning in 2017. Under his former role as VP Marketing and Sales, Nair operated Nissan’s largest P&L business unit in ASEAN. Orchestrated team of 29 direct reports based in Thailand, Singapore and Japan. He further brought revenue for the company with sales and performance across South East Asia and the Pacific Islands in collaboration with importer partners in 21 markets.

He started his career in FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a management trainee in 1997-1998. Now, Nair with his expertise will drive growth for the company.

Stellantis recently appointed Shailesh Hazela as new MD and CEO replacing Aditya Jairaj whose stint remains for around 15 months at the company. The company also appointed Kumar Priyesh as brand director for Jeep in late January 2024. Recently, the company announced former Indian Cricket Captain MS Dhoni as the face for Citroen in India.
