JK Tyre Partners With EKA Mobility To Drive EV Innovation

JK Tyre & Industries, a giant in the tyre industry, has teamed up with EKA Mobility, a top player in the electric vehicle sector.

This partnership also includes Mitsui Co., Ltd. from Japan and VDL Groep from the Netherlands as equity partners.

This collaboration boosts JK Tyre’s position as a leader in “Connected Mobility Solutions,” offering a unique cloud-based monitoring system. According to the offcial Press Release, the agreement was signed in Pune, witnessed by Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, AVP of Fleet Management & Mobility Solutions at JK Tyre, and Mr. Vijaykumar Yelne, President of EKA Mobility.

JK Tyre will provide EKA’s fleet with advanced EV tyres equipped with Connected Treel Sensors for real-time monitoring. A dedicated team from JK Tyre will offer 24/7 support at depots and en route, starting with the fleet in Mumbai and expanding to other cities.

Mr. Srinivasu Allaphan, Director-Sales & Marketing at JK Tyre, said “This collaboration aligns with our commitment to innovation and excellence in tyre management, ensuring that our customers receive unparalleled service and support across their entire mobility needs. Additionally, it serves as a reminder of our dedication to environmental stewardship and product advancement.”

Mr. Vijaykumar Yelne, President of EKA Mobility, echoed these sentiments.”This strategic partnership with JK Tyre is a significant step towards our vision of creating an ecosystem for Environment-Conscious Mobility,” he remarked.

The collaboration aims to transform the EV landscape with new generation EV tyres designed for electric vehicles’ unique demands. JK Tyre’s new tyres promise optimal performance and efficiency, reinforcing the company’s role as a leader in tyre innovation.

EKA Mobility is a pioneer in designing and manufacturing electric commercial vehicles in India. In the past two years, they have launched various electric buses and are now venturing into last-mile delivery with a range of e-LCVs tailored for Indian customers.
