The eagerly awaited Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro is gearing up to start its services in August.

The first section of this phase, spanning three kilometers from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg, is all set to open its doors, boasting two brand-new stations. With civil works completed, the final safety checks and inspections are underway before the corridor becomes operational.

According to the English Jagran, Anuj Dayal, the Delhi Metro spokesperson, shared that this segment is part of the larger Phase 4 project, stretching over 28.9 kilometers. The Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension corridor is nearly finished, with the focus now on wrapping up remaining tasks and ensuring safety.

The new corridor’s Janakpuri West part will be elevated, while the Krishna Park Extension section will be at ground level. The entire Phase 4 project is on track, with full operational status expected by March 2026, promising improved connectivity across the city.

Under Phase 4, three major corridors are in the pipeline: Majlis Park to Maujpur (12.5 kilometers), Aerocity to Tughlakabad (23.6 kilometers), and the soon-to-be-launched Janakpuri West to RK Ashram (28.9 kilometers) stretch.

Additionally, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started the process of obtaining statutory clearances for two newly approved corridors under Phase IV. These corridors, from Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block and Inderlok to Indraprastha, are expected to benefit an additional 2.5 lakh daily commuters.

With a budget of Rs 8,399 crore, they are scheduled for completion by 2028, further expanding the metro network and enhancing connectivity across South, Central, and East Delhi.
