New Delhi: Tata Technologies has launched the second edition of the InnoVent hackathon, in collaboration with Microsoft and Tata Motors. Aimed at engaging engineering students across India, the hackathon invites participants to develop Generative AI-enabled innovations to address challenges in the manufacturing industry. The initiative provides a platform for students to showcase their creativity, with opportunities for mentorship, access to advanced technology tools, and potential commercialization.

This year's hackathon concentrates on innovations that add value across the product development value chain, from product engineering to manufacturing and customer experience. Tata Technologies will support the top project teams with innovation tools and technologies needed to develop scalable innovations. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the company will mentor and guide these teams to help them scale their projects. Microsoft will also offer top teams complimentary access to Azure resources and project mentoring through the Azure community. Tata Motors will play a key role in defining real-world challenges for the participants and supporting the commercialization of the top projects.

Participation in the hackathon is open to 3rd and 4th-year engineering students across India. The event emphasizes inclusive participation by welcoming entries from women engineers and differently-abled team members, thereby reinforcing the initiative’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The evaluation process for the hackathon includes three stages: initial reviews, virtual Proof of Concept (PoC) presentations, and final demonstrations. Projects will be judged on criteria such as diversity, novelty, feasibility, and impact. The top three winning teams will share cumulative cash prizes worth INR 4.5 lakhs and receive paid internship opportunities at Tata Technologies. More information about the InnoVent program is available online, with the submission deadline set for 31st July 2024.
