Gupta further urged the government to reduce the GST on these kits from 28% to 5%, making them more accessible and promoting the Make in India initiative.
KR Fuels has become the first company in India to receive approval for retrofitting LPG into BS4 two-wheelers. This significant achievement marks a step towards sustainable transportation solutions, aimed at addressing vehicular emissions across the country. The company plans to roll out these retrofitment kits nationwide using advanced manufacturing techniques.

The LPG retrofitment kits from KR Fuels include a 5-liter tank, an ECU for scooters, wiring harnesses, and injectors, all produced at their facility in Trichy. The manufacturing process utilizes German robotic arms to ensure precision and quality. With all necessary statutory authorizations and certifications secured, the company is poised for a smooth nationwide deployment.

"We are thrilled to witness KR Fuels receiving approval for two-wheelers Auto LPG retrofitment on BS4 vehicles," said Suyash Gupta, Director General of the Indian Auto LPG Coalition. "This significant milestone not only underscores the potential of Auto LPG as a cleaner, greener alternative to conventional fuels but also represents a crucial step towards reducing vehicular emissions across India. With over 25 million two-wheelers in Tamil Nadu alone, the impact on air quality could be substantial."

Gupta further urged the government to reduce the GST on these kits from 28% to 5%, making them more accessible and promoting the Make in India initiative.

KR Fuels has started production with an initial batch of 8000 tanks ready for distribution. The company operates 73 auto LPG stations and seven retrofitment centers across Tamil Nadu, ensuring accessibility for customers. The kits are priced between INR 9500 and INR 10500, with the total conversion cost around INR 15500.

"The approval for two-wheeler LPG retrofitment validates our commitment. Our kits, manufactured with advanced technology and precision, provide an economical and environmentally friendly solution for the Indian market. We are also seeking approval for BS6 vehicles, which will further expand our offerings. This approval enables us to present a greener alternative for two-wheeler owners in India. Our LPG conversion kits are not only cost-effective but also play a crucial role in reducing vehicular emissions," said Karthigeyan, CEO of KR Fuels.

KR Fuels' initiative is expected to significantly improve air quality, particularly in regions with high concentrations of two-wheelers. The company's focus on affordability and environmental benefits aligns with broader goals for sustainable transport solutions in India. The move to secure approval for retrofitting BS6 vehicles further underscores KR Fuels' commitment to expanding its offerings and supporting cleaner transportation in the country.
