"To ensure the highest construction standards, cost effectiveness and timely completion of National Highway projects, NHAI has set up a Detailed Project Report (DPR) cell at NHAI headquarters in New Delhi," the official statement said.
The new cell will bring uniformity in the review mechanism, ensuring quality DPRs are prepared and thoroughly reviewed before project implementation. A Detailed Project Report includes various surveys, investigations, and designs related to the national highway project.
The DPR cell will be staffed by a dedicated team of around 40 professionals, including Principal DPR experts and domain experts in areas such as road safety, traffic, land acquisition, bridges, tunnels, geotechnics, senior highway expertise, and forestry.
The establishment of this DPR cell is a significant step towards enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of national highway projects in India.
