Indian rmy initiates all-women bike rally in Ladakh honoring Kargil Vijay Diwas

This initiative not only aims at honouring the spirit of Kargil Vijay Diwas but also highlighting 'Unity in Cultural and Ethnic diversity'.
To celebrate Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Hon'ble LG of Ladakh, Brig (Dr) B D Mishra, flagged off an all-women bike rally from Leh’s Hall of Fame. The event, held in the presence of Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla and TVS Motor Company's Vimal Sumbly, features 25 experienced female riders. They will traverse over 2,000 km across Ladakh, honoring the spirit of Kargil Vijay Diwas and showcasing cultural unity.

The bike rally comprises serving women from the Armed Forces, military spouses, and civilian enthusiasts. Riding TVS Apache and TVS Ronin motorcycles, the participants symbolize determination and unity in diversity. The challenging journey will be conducted over 12 days, covering various terrains and paying homage at war memorials throughout Ladakh.

Participants will cross Khardung La and Umling La, the world’s two highest motorable passes. The rally will culminate at the Kargil War Memorial, commemorating the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces. This initiative also aims to motivate youth, particularly girls and women, through curated events and interactions.

Throughout the 12-day rally, the women riders will have several opportunities to engage with locals, especially the youth. These interactions aim to inspire them to excel in various fields, demonstrating that with determination and unity, significant achievements are possible.

The participants of this rally come from various walks of life, showcasing the inclusive nature of the event. Their journey not only commemorates a significant historical event but also underscores the importance of unity amidst cultural and ethnic diversity.
