The Freedom 125 comes in six colours and three variants. The launch event was attended by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. CEO Rajiv Bajaj emphasized the importance of shifting towards cleaner fuel.
“India can show the world how we can move away from petrol and diesel and move towards cleaner fuel,” Rajiv Bajaj stated.
Bookings for the Freedom 125 can be made through Bajaj Auto’s website and dealerships. The company highlights that this new model incurs 50% lower maintenance costs compared to other bikes.
Executive Director Rakesh Sharma elaborated on the development process.
“Bajaj CNG bike is the outcome of a very intense exercise over the last two to three years. It addresses a very large market size. Almost 70% of the one million per month market of motorcycles has some level of sensitivity to fuel economy,” he said.
The bike’s key features include telescopic front forks, mono-link suspension, a front disc and rear drum brake setup, and an engine up to 125 cc. The conventional fuel tank is accompanied by a CNG cylinder placed beneath.
This bike targets the entry-level market as one in every two motorcycles sold locally falls under this category. The Freedom 125 aims to revolutionize the market by combining economical fuel consumption with reduced environmental impact.
