Lexus India reports 14% sales growth in H1 of 2024

Since starting operations in March 2017, Lexus has established a strong presence in India's luxury automotive sector.
New Delhi: Lexus India has reported a 14% increase in sales for the first half of 2024, driven by strong consumer demand and market acceptance. The company's local production initiatives, particularly its 'Make in India' flagship product, the ES sedan, which accounted for 55% of total sales from January to June 2024, have significantly contributed to this growth.

Since starting operations in March 2017, Lexus has established a strong presence in India's luxury automotive sector. The SUV segment exhibited a noteworthy 60% growth compared to the same period last year, with popular models like the RX and NX playing a crucial role. This upward trend aligns with the broader market movement towards luxury cars and SUVs.

Tanmay Bhattacharya, Executive Vice President of Lexus India, said, "The first half of the calendar year 2024 has been pivotal for Lexus India, marked by growth and increasing customer trust in the brand. We are thrilled with the positive response from our guests, which underscores our commitment to excellence. Our customer-centric efforts like the newly introduced NX 350h Overtrail designed to enrich outdoor lifestyle and driving experience, the recently announced new comprehensive 8 years/160,000 km vehicle warranty* has been curated for India as a mark of commitment and respect for customers' confidence in Lexus quality, durability, and reliability, along with product acceptance has further built on the growth trajectory from last year."

The brand offers a diverse range of mobility options to meet the varying needs of Indian customers. The lineup includes the ES sedan, designed to elevate everyday driving experiences. The SUV range features the versatile NX, the Lexus NX 350h Overtrail, an urban SUV that embodies outdoor luxury, and the RX, which offers a unique identity and captivating experience. Additionally, the ultra-luxury MPV LM stands out for its quietness and tranquility.

To further enhance customer satisfaction, Lexus India recently introduced an 8-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty for all new Lexus models sold in India from June 1, 2024. This initiative sets a new standard in the Indian luxury car industry and reflects Lexus India's dedication to delivering superior quality and service while financially benefiting customers.
