Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition
New Delhi: Ducati has announced the launch of the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition, a limited and numbered series of 555 units, available in October, celebrating the last chapter of the Superquadro twin-cylinder engine history. This collector's Panigale is a tribute to the iconic Superquadro family, known for its technical hallmark in Ducati Superbikes and Supersport, with a certification of authenticity and a motorcycle cover provided with each purchase.

The Superquadro engine has been a cornerstone for Ducati for over thirty years, beginning with the 90° V2 engines featuring desmodromic four-valve-per-cylinder distribution. This engine lineage has birthed renowned bikes such as the 748, 749, 848, 899, and 959, leading up to the current Panigale V2. The limited edition Panigale V2 commemorates the evolution of the Superquadro engine, which began in 2011 with the 1199 Panigale.

The name "Superquadro" originates from the high ratio between bore and stroke, enabling the engine to achieve benchmark maximum power for a twin-cylinder. Over the years, it evolved into smaller displacement versions, first 898 cc and then 955 cc. The latter, with its 955 cc displacement, has been particularly successful, winning the first Supersport world title for Ducati in 2023 with Nicolò Bulega, and also claiming the MotoAmerica Supersport title in 2022 and 2023.

The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition features the 955 cc Superquadro engine, delivering 155 hp at 10,750 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine showcases several advanced technical solutions, such as crankcases made by Vacural® casting, aluminium pressed-in cylinder liners with NikaSil coating, and magnesium components for the head, clutch, and oil pan covers. These developments contribute to an extremely compact and rigid engine, integrated into a monocoque frame chassis.

The desmodromic distribution in this engine includes "super-finished" rocker arms coated with DLC treatment, reducing friction and enhancing fatigue resistance. The mixed chain/gear control system sets new standards in efficiency and reliability.

A unique livery, designed by Drudi Performance in collaboration with Centro Stile Ducati, adorns the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition. The livery uses Ducati's characteristic colours: white, red, black, and grey. The design highlights the Superquadro engine with technical drawings on the fairing, while the matt grey tank contrasts with the fairing colours for a modern aesthetic. The saddle features elegant embroidery, enhancing its sporty style.

"The curve of the shield, on the upper half cowl, stretches out to coincide with the shape of the bike," Ducati details, "and the numberplate underneath follows its outline."

Safety and control are paramount, with the Panigale V2's electronic equipment based on a 6-axis inertial platform. The electronic package includes ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, enhancing stability during extreme cornering.

The Panigale V2's monocoque chassis solution is complemented by Öhlins suspension and a steering damper. The bike also features Rizoma adjustable rider footrests made from billet aluminium. Carbon fibre components include the front and rear mudguards, silencer end, chain guard, clutch cover protection, swingarm protection, and shock absorber cover. The bike is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, and it is offered in a single-seater configuration with sports grips.

For track use, a kit for the removal of the license plate and mirrors is available, alongside a billet aluminium racing tank cap, both delivered with the bike. The bike is also pre-equipped with a GPS module for DDA data acquisition.

The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition features unique elements such as a specially animated dashboard upon turning the key and a distinctive contact key model. Each bike is uniquely identified with a number engraved on a triple clamp machined from solid.

"Like every collectible Ducati, the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition is made unique by the triple clamp," Ducati states, "in this case machined from solid, on which the model number is shown."

Every motorcycle comes with a certificate of authenticity and a personalized motorcycle cover, securing its status as a collector's item. Representatives at Ducati express deep gratitude and admiration for the Superquadro engine series, recognizing it as a pinnacle of engineering and performance.

Ducati enthusiasts and collectors eagerly anticipate the release of this homage to one of the most sophisticated twin-cylinder engines Ducati has ever created. The limited edition Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition symbolizes the culmination of decades of innovation and excellence in motorcycle engineering.
