New Delhi: Bounce Infinity, a Bengaluru-based electric scooter maker has partnered with Zapp Electric Vehicles Group Limited, owner of the British electric vehicle brand Zapp, to manufacture scooters at Bounce Infinity's Bhiwadi plant in India. This collaboration will focus on enhancing the assembly and distribution of Zapp's i300 electric urban motorcycle in India. The agreement aims to leverage Bounce’s extensive manufacturing capabilities and market presence to support Zapp’s mission of delivering premium, sustainable personal mobility solutions.

Bounce Infinity will provide contract manufacturing services for Zapp's electric vehicles based on the specifications provided by Zapp, ensuring seamless production and market readiness. This collaboration is expected to accelerate Zapp's entry and growth in the Indian market, which is one of the world's largest markets for two-wheel electric vehicles.

Swin Chatsuwan, Founder and CEO of Zapp EV, said, "Bounce’s manufacturing expertise and market presence in India is expected to accelerate Zapp’s commercial rollout in key urban areas in the country. India is already one of the largest markets in the world for sales of two-wheelers, and the share of electric vehicles is forecast to reach 45% by 2030. We think the design attributes of the i300 make it an excellent solution for personal mobility with India’s growing purchasing power and urban densification."

Bounce Infinity will also support Zapp EV in obtaining the necessary approvals for homologating its products for sale in India. The entire process is expected to be completed within 120 days from the effective date of the memorandum of understanding, ensuring a swift and efficient market launch. Additionally, both companies will explore the possibility of a distribution partnership to further enhance the availability of Zapp’s products across India.

Vivekananda Hallekare, CEO and Co-founder of Bounce Infinity said, "By combining our manufacturing strengths with Zapp’s innovative product lineup, we aim to make India a two-wheeler manufacturing hub for the entire world."

Zapp utilizes an asset-light and capital-efficient business model, enabled by its contract manufacturing partnerships, which are expected to provide sufficient capacity to quickly scale production without incurring significant capital expenditures. The commercial rollout of Zapp’s i300 is not dependent on any dedicated charging infrastructure, as the removable and portable battery packs can be charged from any standard wall socket.

Bounce Infinity has over 70 dealerships across India and is rapidly scaling its swap network. The company recently signed a 30,000-scooter order with SUN Mobility, ensuring seamless and efficient energy management for its users. Additionally, the company is finalizing similar agreements with major food delivery, quick commerce, and last-mile delivery companies, further expanding its reach. The collaboration with Clean Electric highlights Bounce Infinity’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions in the electric vehicle ecosystem, solidifying its position as a leader in sustainable urban mobility.

Bounce Infinity is India’s first smart electric scooter with removable batteries. The company aims to democratise commuting by providing affordable and reliable electric scooters designed for people from both rural and urban areas. The scooters are known for their robust build quality and reliability. Bounce Infinity has sold over 10,000 scooters since its launch and has a presence in all major metros and rural markets. Bounce Infinity is part of Bounce, India’s first smart mobility ride-sharing solution with a mission of making daily commutes quick, stress-free, and convenient. Bounce Infinity is working on the mass adoption of electric vehicles with its smart features, flexible charging, swappable batteries, and integration with an ecosystem of swap stations.

Zapp EV operates alongside its subsidiaries with a team of experts from the mobility industry, on a mission to redefine the electric two-wheeler segment. Zapp's debut product, the i300, is an urban electric high-performance two-wheeler capable of traditional motorcycle levels of performance in a step-through format, combining ease of use with exhilaration and fun.

The i300 is the first in a suite of high-performance electric two-wheelers that Zapp plans to bring to market. Zapp offers a high-quality direct-to-customer experience known as DSDTC (drop-ship-direct-to-customer). Customers ordering the i300 online will have their bikes conveniently delivered to their homes by authorized “Zappers,” who will provide at-home inspection, service, and support throughout the vehicle ownership lifecycle, the company said. Zapp is a registered trademark of Zapp Electric Vehicles Limited in the United Kingdom and other countries.
