Ashok Leyland bags single largest order from Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation

This significant order from MSRTC will further consolidate its standing in both the Indian and global bus markets.
New Delhi: Ashok Leyland, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in India and the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has secured its largest single order to date for fully built buses from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). The order is for 2,104 Viking passenger buses equipped with the latest technology and safety features, further solidifying Ashok Leyland's dominant position in the bus segment.

The MSRTC, one of the country's largest state transport undertakings with a fleet of over 15,000 buses, will be incorporating these new Ashok Leyland buses into its operations. These modern buses will be fully compliant with the latest Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) standards. They will feature an AIS 153 compliant body, iGEN6 BS VI OBD II technology, a 197 HP H-Series Engine, and Rear Air Suspension, among other significant features. Manufacturing will take place at Ashok Leyland’s advanced bus body plants, ensuring enhanced safety, improved comfort, and a lower total cost of ownership for MSRTC.
