Leapmotor CEO Zhu Jiangming emphasized the company's achievements and optimistic outlook for the future.
Leapmotor International, a joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor of China, commenced shipment of its first batch of electric vehicles, consisting of C10 SUVs and T03 cars, from Shanghai, China, to European ports on July 30, 2024.

Leapmotor's C10 and T03 vehicles boast of advanced EV technology with exceptional performance, efficiency, and range. In June 2024, Leapmotor ranked as the fourth largest Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) startup by sales. This shipment signifies the start of Leapmotor's expansion into the European market, backed by Stellantis' business network in the region.

“The shipment of Leapmotor C10 and T03 vehicles to Europe this month is a landmark moment in the partnership between Stellantis and Leapmotor. This demonstrates our commitment to providing innovative, affordable, and sustainable mobility solutions to our customers. Relying on Stellantis’ strong business assets in Europe and the hard work of our companies’ teams on guaranteeing product innovation and quality, I strongly believe that Leapmotor’s electric vehicles will be widely accepted by European customers. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership brings and look forward to a successful journey together,” Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said.

Leapmotor CEO Zhu Jiangming said, “As of the first half of July, Leapmotor has cumulatively sold over 400,000 EVs in China since the company’s first sale. China is the biggest and most competitive EV market in the world and our products have proved their value by being acclaimed by the local customers. Since the very beginning, the C10 and T03 models are designed to meet the high standards of global customers and we are confident that the collaboration between Stellantis and Leapmotor will drive significant growth for both companies.”

To support its expansion, Leapmotor International aims to increase its sales points in Europe to 500 by 2026, up from 200 projected at the end of 2024, leveraging Stellantis' distribution channels. This strategic move ensures a high level of service for European customers as the C10 and T03 vehicles make their way to the Continent.

Stellantis and Leapmotor are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry through this partnership. This shipment marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration aimed at reshaping the landscape of electric mobility in Europe and beyond. They plan to release at least one new model every year for the next three years, further expanding their footprint in the EV market.

This initial shipment is a significant step towards achieving broader goals and underscores the commitment of both the companies to sustainable and innovative mobility solutions for the European market.
