Hyundai Motor India foundation launches project H2OPE in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra

This initiative aims to promote better health and hygiene among students, contributing to a conducive learning environment, benefitting over 35,000 school children in the region.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has installed water RO systems in 100 government schools in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra. This initiative, inaugurated by Girish Mahajan, Minister for Rural Development & Youth Affairs and Sports, Maharashtra, aims to improve health and hygiene for over 35,000 students in the region.

The special event highlighted the completion of this significant project, which aims to foster a healthier and more conducive learning environment for students. The RO systems are expected to provide clean drinking water, which is a fundamental necessity for student wellbeing.

Puneet Anand, Vertical Head - Corporate Communication and Social, HMIL, commented on the project’s alignment with Hyundai’s global vision.

"Aligned with Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, the Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) took up the initiative to provide access to clean drinking water for school-going children across 100 government schools in the Gadchiroli region of Maharashtra through Project H2OPE. This initiative aims to not only boost the wellbeing of students by ensuring one of their basic needs is met, but also envisages to create a supportive and nurturing environment where they can academically succeed and prosper."

The project, known as Project H2OPE, represents HMIF's broader commitment to community development and promoting better health outcomes for children. This step is expected to significantly contribute to the overall progress of Gadchiroli’s educational infrastructure and enhance students' academic experience.
