Ultraviolette appoints Vinayak Bhat as Chief Product Officer to boost product development, strategic growth

Ultraviolette (UV) has promoted Vinayak Bhat to Chief Product Officer, capitalising on his decade-long experience in aerospace and electric mobility. The move is geared towards expanding their product portfolio and accelerating innovation in high-performance electric vehicles. Bhat will oversee Ultraviolette’s product development from inception through to market introduction, aiming to solidify the company’s position as a global leader in electric mobility.

Vinayak Bhat, currently the Chief Product Officer at Ultraviolette, expressed his enthusiasm about his new role. He emphasised the company’s consistent drive for innovation and detailed his plans to focus on critical elements like battery technology, drivetrain, and vehicle architecture. According to Bhat, “I've witnessed Ultraviolette's unwavering pursuit of innovation. My goal is to craft exceptional products for global markets through our strategy of vertical integration - specifically across critical elements like the battery technology, drivetrain and vehicle architecture. Our aim: redefine standards and solidify Ultraviolette’s position as a global leader in electric mobility.”

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, highlighted Bhat’s unique perspective derived from his background in aerospace and electric vehicle technologies. Subramaniam stated, “Vinayak's in-depth understanding of aerospace and electric vehicle technologies provides him with a unique perspective that will be critical in driving our culture of innovation. His leadership was instrumental in the successful launch of our flagship products - the F77 and the F77 Mach 2. I am confident that with Vinayak’s appointment as CPO, we will achieve newer heights in innovation and market penetration.”

Previous roles
Vinayak Bhat started his career at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in 2013 as a structural engineer. He later joined Safran Engineering as a design analyst, where he worked on key projects for Airbus and Boeing focusing on landing gears, nacelles, and fuselage components. He also co-founded a startup specialising in drivetrain and battery technology, which laid the groundwork for his continued involvement in the electric mobility sector.

Bhat joined Ultraviolette in 2017 and previously served as Technical Director and Principal Engineer. During this period, he played a significant role in the development of key products such as the F77 Mach 2 and the F99 Racing Platform. He managed coordination across product development, engineering, operations, and manufacturing. His technical expertise has been instrumental in achieving Ultraviolette’s milestones.

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, also praised Bhat's contributions to the company. He said, “Vinayak has been instrumental in driving our product development initiatives. His exceptional technical prowess and exemplary leadership have been pivotal in realizing our vision. Company's strategy

Ultraviolette Automotive aims to establish itself as a global leader in electric mobility. The company has an ambitious plan to introduce new products across various mobility segments over the next five years, targeting both domestic and international markets. Vinayak Bhat’s promotion to Chief Product Officer is seen as a strategic move to effectively execute this vision.
