Throughout the campaign, the focus was on interactive learning, making the concept of road safety engaging and memorable for the students.
The StreetSmarties campaign, a collaborative road safety initiative by Envalior and ETAuto, has successfully concluded its impactful journey across five major Indian cities: Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune. This campaign, designed to instill crucial road safety habits in young minds, particularly pre-primary and middle school students, has left a lasting impression on thousands of children, nurturing a generation of responsible road users.

India, which grapples with one of the highest rates of road accident fatalities globally, sees over 1.5 million lives lost to road crashes annually. This initiative sought to address this pressing issue by educating children, who represent the future of the country, on the importance of road safety.

Throughout the campaign, the focus was on interactive learning, making the concept of road safety engaging and memorable for the students. In each city, the campaign reached out to ten schools, where students were introduced to the fundamentals of road safety through a series of creative and collaborative activities.

Students participated in various exercises, including the creation of traffic signs, the development of road safety slogans, and role-playing scenarios at intersections. These activities not only educated them about traffic rules but also encouraged them to think critically about the importance of safety on the roads.

The campaign's success is evident in the enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the students. As they designed posters, wrote poems, and drew intersections, they were not just learning but also becoming advocates for road safety in their own communities. Their work was celebrated with awards and certificates, acknowledging their efforts and reinforcing the significance of the lessons learned.

Key figures from Envalior, including Cheeranjeev Ajmera, Regional Business Controller, and Vikram Patil, Director of New Business - Speciality Materials, India and MEA, emphasised the importance of embedding these safety principles at a young age. "By partnering with ETAuto, we have created 3,000 road safety champions, young ambassadors who will spread awareness among their friends and families, helping India to become a safer country in the future."

The campaign also highlighted the broader societal benefits of such educational initiatives. "If kids are able to imbibe the rules and regulations of driving safely and following road signals properly, I think India will soon become a country with fewer accidents and safer roads," added Patil.

As the StreetSmarties campaign concludes, it leaves behind a trail of positive influence. The thousands of young road safety champions created through this initiative are expected to carry forward the message of safety, contributing to a future where the roads are safer for everyone.
