Maruti Suzuki gets INR 3.25 crore show cause notice from customs office

However, Maruti Suzuki has clarified that there is no major impact on the financial, operation, or other activities of the Company due to this show cause notice.
Maruti Suzuki received the show cause notice from the office of the Principal Commissioner of Customs for INR 3,25,16,727.

Maruti Suzuki on Sunday informed its investors about receiving a show cause notice from the office of the Principal Commissioner of Customs (Air Cargo Complex, Import), New Delhi.

Maruti Suzuki received the notice on 24th August 2024 as per the company’s stock exchange filings.

“According to the Show Cause Notice, the authority has asked the Company to provide the reasons for claiming customs duty exemption on the import of certain categories of goods and to pay the differential duty of INR 32,516,727 along with applicable interest and penalty,” stated the company.

However, Maruti Suzuki has clarified that there is no major impact on the financial, operation, or other activities of the Company due to this show cause notice.
