Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, opened two exclusive electric vehicle (EV) retail stores under the brand identity TATA.ev in Kochi, Kerala. These stores, located in Edappally and Kalamassery, aim to provide a unique and upmarket purchase and ownership experience for EV enthusiasts, reflecting the evolving consumer demands and the increasing adoption of EVs in India.

TPEM has been a significant player in India's EV revolution, and the launch of these dedicated stores aligns with the growing maturity in consumer buying behavior. As consumers increasingly seek a unique experience throughout their purchase journey, TPEM addresses these expectations by offering a blend of community, technology, and sustainability through its new TATA.ev brand. The stores are designed to cater specifically to EV buyers, featuring a friendly atmosphere that encourages information sharing, advice, and guidance.

According to Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., "As the leading market for electric mobility in the country with 5.6% EV penetration, the people of Kerala have led the way in adopting future facing technologies, making it a clear choice for us to inaugurate our next set of premium Tata.ev stores in the state. We have seen how the discerning EV consumer has matured and demands a premium ownership experience. To cater to this archetype, Tata Motors is committed to continue democratising EVs for the mass market coupled with offering a sophisticated and digitised ownership experience. Furthermore, we will soon open a set of 5 exclusive EV service centres across key cities in Kerala. For us, creating an upscale purchase and ownership experience through Tata.ev stores and service centres is an important cog in India’s electric revolution. These are critical milestones as we move firmly towards the inflection point for EV adoption in the country."

The TATA.ev store in Edappally is the brand's largest EV store in India, covering over 8,800 square feet. This spacious setup allows for the display of more than 10 vehicles and offers ample parking space for customers and visitors. The store also features a dedicated 60 kW DC fast charger and showcases the all-new TATA.ev Originals accessory range for purchase.

Tata.ev service facility

Further enhancing the customer experience, a dedicated EV service facility is set to open in the next few months. This facility will feature 17 service bays, with 12 mechanical bays and 5 body shop bays, designed to handle more than 800 vehicles per month. The workshop will be staffed by a highly trained and skilled workforce to ensure quality after-sales service for Tata EV owners.

These new EV-exclusive stores and the upcoming service centers reflect TPEM's commitment to providing a premium ownership experience for its customers while supporting the broader adoption of electric mobility in India. Kochi's selection for these launches highlights the region's enthusiasm for technology and sustainability, solidifying its role in driving the nation's electric revolution.

With these strategic developments, TPEM aims to democratise EVs for the mass market and offer a sophisticated, digitalised ownership experience, marking significant milestones in the journey towards widespread EV adoption in India.
