The design of Citroen Basalt is in line with the other models of the brand available in the country. It appears to draw heavy inspiration from the C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross SUVs. This is evident in the piano black front grille, accompanied by LED projector headlamps and LED DRLs. At the back, the car sports a distinctive sloping roofline that seamlessly integrates with the boot. Furthermore, the rear end is equipped with wrap-around tail lights, enhancing the car's unique appearance.
To enhance the appeal of the vehicle, Citroen offers features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, automatic climate control, armrest with storage space, and more. In terms of safety, the brand has incorporated features like hill-hold assist, six standard airbags, TPMS, and others.
The Citroen Basalt is powered by either a 1.2-liter petrol engine or a turbo petrol engine. The naturally aspirated unit delivers 82 hp and 115 Nm, while the turbo-petrol engine produces 110hp. The turbo-petrol engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox (yielding 190Nm) or a 6-speed torque converter automatic (producing 205Nm), whereas the NA unit is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
