Mahindra Tractors, India's leading tractor brand, recently showcased its first CBG (Compressed Bio-Gas) powered Yuvo Tech+ tractor in New Delhi. The event took place in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. This tractor represents a significant advancement in tractor technology by using compressed bio-gas, which is a green and renewable fuel, thus reducing reliance on fossil fuels and cutting down carbon emissions.

Bio-gas technology

Compressed bio-gas is produced from biodegradable materials such as farm food and other waste. This makes it a sustainable alternative compared to CNG, which depends on fossil fuels. Mahindra's new CBG-powered tractor ensures operational power and performance comparable to conventional diesel tractors, making it capable of handling both farming and haulage tasks efficiently. The Yuvo Tech+ CBG tractor adheres to stringent norms and meets all Indian standards.

"Mahindra’s Yuvo Tech+ CBG tractor ensures operational power and performance comparable to conventional diesel tractor technology with the capability of handling farming and haulage tasks, while delivering robust power and performance," the company stated.

A step towards sustainability

This innovation is part of Mahindra's vision to promote eco-friendly and sustainable technology solutions. By introducing CBG tractor technology, Mahindra aims to benefit both the farming community and the environment. The company continues to lead the agricultural sector by developing innovative and sustainable products. In recent years, Mahindra has also showcased other alternate fuel tractor technologies such as CNG, LPG, and dual-fuel tractors.

Mahindra has been India’s No.1 tractor brand for decades and is the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume. The company rolled out its first tractor in 1963 through a joint venture with International Harvester, Inc., USA. Mahindra is the only Indian tractor brand to have sold over four million tractors, including global sales.

"Powerful and fuel efficient for longer duty cycles, Mahindra Tractors are Built ‘Tough’ and are known for their exceptional build quality and performance on rugged and unforgiving terrains, for India and over 50 global markets," the article emphasized.

Mahindra offers the widest tractor portfolio in India. These tractors are developed using the R&D, product development, and quality manufacturing standards. They feature world-class testing standards, engines, powertrains, and aggregate technologies.
