At ISBT Anand Vihar, LG has directed to provide a passage through platform A and the DMRC boundary wall. The work is underway, the official said, adding that potholes on the roads between platforms are also being filled.
New Delhi: All three interstate bus terminals in Delhi are undergoing a major revamp. The renovation, which is being carried out by Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (DTIDC), is likely to be finished in a month’s time.

On Aug 31, LG VK Saxena conducted an inspection of ISBT Kashmere Gate. On Sept 9, he visited the Anand Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan bus terminals. During his visits to these places, he had expressed dissatisfaction at the state of infrastructure and instructed the authorities concerned to redress all the issues, said Raj Niwas in a statement.

As part of the revamp at ISBT Kashmere Gate, the footpath at the entry gate for buses has been reconstructed. The condition of the porta cabin at the entrance barrier of FASTag lane has also been improved. At the departure block, encroachments have been removed.

“It was observed that existing ticket counters at the departure block were disturbing the movement of commuters; the same has been shifted. Damaged patches in the flooring at the waiting hall were observed and the same has been rectified,” said an official from Raj Niwas.

Work on rectifying the false ceiling, broken tiles and manhole covers is also in progress, he added.

At ISBT Sarai Kale Khan, replacement of sanitary fittings and platform roofs is in progress.

At ISBT Anand Vihar, LG has directed to provide a passage through platform A and the DMRC boundary wall. The work is underway, the official said, adding that potholes on the roads between platforms are also being filled.

“After the improvement in turnaround time, circulation of buses and better peripheral traffic owing to the introduction of the new stand fee structure on Sept 15, work is in full swing for the improvement of civic and other infrastructure inside and around the complexes,” Raj Niwas added.

According to the statement, LG has been reviewing traffic and transport issues along with senior officials of Delhi Police and the transport department every week since Aug. DTIDC has submitted a compliance notice on the action taken with regards to the directions issued by LG, it added.
