Revolt Motors has introduced the Revolt RV1, an electric motorcycle targeting the commuter segment in India. The RV1 and its premium variant, RV1+, come in four colors, with prices starting at INR 84,990 for the RV1 and INR 99,990 for the RV1+.

According to the company, these models offer up to three times lower ownership costs compared to petrol motorcycles and aim to make electric motorcycling accessible to a broader audience. The launch features significant enhancements, including a robust payload capacity, advanced braking systems, and modern aesthetics, positioning it as a practical and high-performing option for daily commuters.

India's motorcycling market, with motorcycles accounting for 70% of all two-wheelers, sees about 1.25 crore motorcycles sold annually. The commuter segment holds the largest share with over 80 lakh motorcycles sold each year. The introduction of the RV1 and RV1+ targets this market, offering affordability and efficiency. These new models complement Revolt Motors' existing premium lineup, which includes the popular RV400 and RV400 BRZ, the company said.

Specifications

The RV1 comes with a payload capacity of 250 kg. It features broader tires for improved grip and stability, suitable for both city and extended rides. Powered by a mid-motor and a premium chain drive system, the RV1 promises seamless acceleration and smooth performance. Safety features include dual disc brakes for superior stopping power and multiple speed modes for versatile riding. A reverse mode, unique in this category, aids in tight parking spaces.

A 6-inch digital LCD display offers real-time ride data and error codes, ensuring riders are informed and connected. The bile is offered with LED headlights and taillights. The RV1 includes built-in charger storage and fast-charging technology, with the RV1+ model charging fully in just 1.5 hours. Two battery options are available: a 2.2 kWh battery with a 100 km range and a 3.24 kWh battery with a 160 km range. Both are IP67-rated for water resistance, ensuring reliability in adverse weather conditions.

Updates in the ongoing models

Revolt Motors is also updating its flagship model, the RV400, with new features to enhance performance, convenience, and safety. The new fast charger charges the bike in 90 minutes, and the addition of reverse mode simplifies parking. An enhanced digital display, comfortable seat height, and Bluetooth connectivity to improve the riding experience.

The RV400 now offers an extended range of 160 km and a new Lunar Green color. Its new CAN-based communication system also promises to enhance its intelligence.

Anjali Rattan, Chairperson of RattanIndia Enterprises Limited, stated, "Our commitment to sustainability and our quest to engineer a motorcycle that is budget-friendly yet does not compromise on quality, features, or safety have come together in the form of the RV1. With modern and updated looks and features that are best in the segment, RV1 brings a new level of style and practicality to the electric motorcycle segment. A perfect blend of cutting-edge technology and thoughtful design, RV1 has been made to provide an exhilarating ride experience for the discerning Indian rider."
