Chennai-based myTVS has launched a new 'Mobility-as-a-Service' platform for last-mile electric vehicle operators.
Chennai-based digital automotive aftermarket platform myTVS launched its 'Mobility-as-a-Service' (MaaS) platform today aimed at last-mile electric vehicle operators. This service is designed to offer end-to-end vehicle management solutions--from leasing to providing a comprehensive package that covers fleet operations, vehicle servicing, charging infrastructure, and fleet management technology. The company aims to reduce operational complexities for EV fleet operators.

The company, part of the USD 3 billion TVS Mobility Group of the TS Rajam vertical of the TVS family, has partnered with MoEVing, an EV-based logistics firm, to launch this new MaaS platform. Together, they aim to streamline the operations of logistics operators through integrated fleet management services, enhancing efficiency and sustainability.

G Srinivasa Raghavan, Managing Director of myTVS, said, “The introduction of our MaaS platform marks a significant milestone in our journey towards transforming mobility in India. We are addressing one of the key pain points in last-mile delivery--managing a fleet of electric vehicles. This service eliminates the burden of ownership while ensuring that operators have access to top-tier vehicle management services.”

Raghavan further discussed the company’s focus on creating a robust ecosystem for EV fleet operators. He highlighted the need for solutions tailored to specific operational requirements, stating, "We conducted extensive research to understand the needs of fleet operators and found that they require a closed-loop ecosystem to thrive." He highlighted that the MaaS platform addresses these requirements by offering a flexible, digital solution that can adapt to various operator demands.

Fleet expansion plan and investment

The company announced that it will add 10,000 electric two-wheelers to its fleet by March 2024, supporting the platform and addressing the growing demand for electric vehicles in the last-mile delivery sector. To support this expansion, the company will invest up to INR 100-150 crore to acquire these electric two-wheelers.

Raghavan further emphasised the importance of this expansion: “We believe that the electrification of logistics is inevitable, and we are committed to playing a pivotal role in driving this transformation. By adding 10,000 electric vehicles to our fleet, we’re not just scaling our business, we’re also advancing the adoption of clean energy solutions in the logistics sector.”

myTVS, with 1,000 outlets across 400 towns in India, has provided aftermarket services to over a million customers and aims to expand to 2,500 outlets across 800 towns within the next two years.
