It hoped that Mercedes-Benz would play an active role in providing a good environment for co-operation between China and the European Union in the auto sector, Zheng Shanjie, chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, said in a statement.
China and the EU are currently negotiating on the latter's anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese electric vehicles, Zheng said during Tuesday's meeting, calling the step a typical trade protectionist measure, the statement added.
