The recall is done for motorcycles manufactured between November 2022 and March 2023, the company reported in its stock exchange filings.

As a cautious initiative, Eicher Motors has decided to recall a batch of Royal Enfield motorcycles due to potential fault in the rear and/or side reflectors. The recall is done for motorcycles manufactured between November 2022 and March 2023, the company reported in its stock exchange filings.

The company has done a voluntary recall as the motorcycles may not meet the reflective performance requirements as per standards and the reflective quality may be less than required.

Free cost of replacement

In a proactive step, the company has decided to replace reflectors on all motorcycles manufactured between the said time period without any cost for all its customers across all markets. While the issue has been reported only in a very small sample size, the company further added in its exchange filings.

The service action will be undertaken in a phased manner starting with South Korea, USA and Canada followed by remaining countries - India, Brazil, Latin America, Europe and the UK.

15 minutes replacement procedure

Customers whose motorcycle requires the replacement will be contacted by Royal Enfield’s service teams in a phased manner. The replacement of the side and rear reflectors will be done within approximately 15 minutes, the company further added.

“All our motorcycles are rigorously tested to global validation standards of quality and durability. The safety of our riders is of prime importance to us at Royal Enfield and we are deeply committed to the duty of care to all our customers,” the company further stated.
