In addition to its operational strategies, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has also been focusing on corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported a 14% year-on-year increase in wholesales in September, reaching 26,847 units as compared to 23,590 units in the same month last year. The company sold 23,802 units in the domestic market and exported 3,045 units. This growth is attributed to heightened festive demand and strides in the company's operational improvements.

Festive season to boost demand

"As the festive fervour picks up footfalls and enquiries are charged up, this makes us positive of a very good festive season. Notably, our SUV, MPV, and small car segments have experienced significant growth nationwide, contributing over 90% to our sales in the month of September," stated Sabari Manohar, TKM Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business.

Operational improvements

One key factor in meeting the increased demand has been the introduction of a third shift. "This has significantly optimised our supply chain, particularly for high-demand models where waiting periods have been reduced," Manohar added.

In addition to its operational strategies, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has also been focusing on corporate social responsibility initiatives. On August 26, in recognition of Women's Equality Day, the company reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender equality.

Gender equality commitment

They announced plans to increase the representation of women in its workforce to 30% by 2030. This aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

The company has outlined various initiatives to meet these goals. These include robust Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) measures, extensive benchmarking across industries, and alignment with the International Labour Organization's 2030 agenda.
