The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has introduced bus ticket booking through WhatsApp, the instant messaging platform, across its network in the national capital.

For tech-savvy Delhiites, this marks the end of times when they had to wait after boarding the bus to get a ticket from conductor. The WhatsApp ticket booking facility allows people to book tickets conveniently from various locations such as homes, offices, malls, etc.

Currently, the chatbot allows commuters travelling on DTC and DIMTS routes to book single journey QR tickets. For riders commuting frequently on the same route, the chatbot will offer a quick purchase feature, further reducing the time spent selecting the destination and starting point in the chatbot.
