AirAsia has kicked off direct flights between Visakhapatnam and Bangkok starting this Tuesday.
This marks the second international airline to launch an overseas flight from Visakhapatnam since the Covid-19 pandemic struck. Scoot was the pioneer in this regard, connecting Visakhapatnam with Singapore.
Operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, AirAsia’s flights offer convenient travel options. Departing Bangkok at 10:05 p.m., the flight touches down in Visakhapatnam at 11:20 p.m. Then, it flies back from Visakhapatnam at 11:50 p.m., reaching Bangkok at 4:15 a.m. the following day.
The maiden flight to Bangkok recorded a commendable passenger load of 80 percent. Offering pocket-friendly ticket prices ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 23,000, AirAsia aims to make travel accessible to all, as reported by Deccan Chronicles.
Notable figures such as Kishore (AirAsia’s South and West India regional manager), Witchunee Kuntapeng (AirAsia’s head, Global Guest Services), Vijay Mohan (Tours and Travels Association representative), and Raja Reddy (Visakhapatnam Airport director) graced the inaugural flight, marking the significance of this new air route.
