The Chinese EV battery manufacturer CATL has introduced an advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery named Shenxing Plus. It has been claimed by the brand that the battery is capable of providing a maximum range of more than 600 km on 10 minutes of charging, and offers more than 1,000 kilometers range on a full top-top.
The newly unveiled Shenxing Plus battery is said to be one of the most powerful batteries globally. It has been created in such a manner that it can offer superfast charging options even in extreme cold temperatures of up to -20 degrees Celsius.
Material Used
It has been informed that the Shenxing Plus battery comes with an energy density of 205 Wh/kg. It is developed using in-house 3D honeycomb material.
The battery is expected to be used globally soon, and will reduce the range anxiety issues among potential customers. It will also boost the EV segment, allowing more target audiences to get inclined toward battery-powered vehicles instead of ICE models.
Major Focus on LFP batteries
Meanwhile, CATL stated that the company is on its way to reducing the cost of LFP batteries per kWh. The move is expected to benefit the EV segment, and will make the battery-powered vehicle more affordable than ever.
CATL Market Response
According to the reports, the top battery maker CATL has been dominating the industry for years. In 2023, reports suggested that CATL’s market share reached 36.8 percent. The number is almost 21 percent bigger than its competitor BYD.
