The Tata Motor has added the latest entry-level trims in the Nexon product line. The offerings have been introduced in both petrol and diesel engine options, allowing the customers to have wider choices in the segment.

The price range of the newly introduced base trim also has been brought down. Now, the base variant Smart (O) in petrol costs Rs 8 lakh, while the diesel trims go up to Rs 10.60 lakh (all ex-showroom). The former has become more affordable by Rs 15,000 compared to the previous version.

More Competition to Mahindra 3XO?

The decision to offer new trims comes at the time when Mahindra has launched its much-awaited 3XO. The model was released at a sticker price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It seems like the sole purpose of releasing the above-mentioned trims by Tata is to give tough competition to the company in the segment.

The newly released Nexon’s trims continue to share the same road presence, featuring head-turning front fascia and aggressive road presence. The mid-size SUV comes with the same headlight setup, complimented by stylish DRLs and fog lamps.

Top Features

Talking about the features in Nexon on board, it offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital driver’s display, ventilated, wireless charger, cruise control, height-adjustable front seats, a voice-assisted electric sunroof, a 9-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer, and the list goes on.

Safety

As far as safety is concerned, the vehicle has been given a five-star rating during the crash test by Global NCAP. To make it superior in the segment, the company has also offered hill-start assist, six airbags 360-degree camera among other robust features.

Engine

The four-wheeler continues to be offered in both a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The former generates a maximum power of 118 bhp and 170Nm, while the former produces an impressive 113 bhp and 260Nm torque.
