"Serving on the board of the company has been both, an honour and a privilege," Sharma said in his resignation letter.

New Delhi: Apollo Tyres announced on Tuesday that Satish Sharma, director and president of the APMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) region, has tendered his resignation as whole-time director. Sharma will remain in his role as President of APMEA until May 31, 2024, to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.

In a letter to the Board of Directors, Sharma cited his desire to take early retirement to pursue personal interests as the reason for his resignation. He confirmed that there are no other material reasons for his departure. Sharma will also step down from the risk management committee of the board and resign from the boards of the company's subsidiaries.

"Serving on the board of the company has been both, an honour and a privilege," Sharma said in his resignation letter.

The company has acknowledged Sharma's significant contributions and dedicated service over the years. His leadership in the APMEA region has been instrumental in driving the growth and expansion of Apollo Tyres in these markets.
