Dubai International Airport faced major disruptions due to heavy rains causing flooding, impacting flights from major airlines like IndiGo and Air India.

The airport, one of the busiest globally, had to divert arrivals, leading to delays and cancellations.

Emirates airline suspended check-in from 8 a.m. to midnight due to operational challenges caused by the bad weather. IndiGo informed passengers about flight disruptions via social media, with several flights to Dubai canceled, as reported by Moneycontrol.

Passengers shared their travel nightmares on social media, criticizing IndiGo for abrupt cancellations and poor management. IndiGo assured customers of refunds and alternate flight options.

Air India also faced complaints as flights got canceled due to the weather. Flydubai halted all flights departing from Dubai until the next morning.

flydubai, a Dubai-based airline, suspended all departures until the morning of April 17 due to the adverse weather conditions. This move affected numerous flights, primarily those with destinations in India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom.

The adverse weather affected other Gulf Peninsula locations, with heavy rains causing casualties in Oman. Dubai experienced one of its wettest April days, with 40 mm of rain attributed partly to cloud seeding by the country’s weather department.
