Around the last one and half months of the new fiscal, total 13,19,173 paper based QR Tickets have been sold from different ticket counters of Green Line 1 and Green Line 2. Apart from that commuters have also purchased QR Code Based Tickets using Metro Ride Kolkata app with the help of smart phones. More than 9300 such tickets have been purchased by Metro commuters during this period. As a result, Metro has earned more than INR 1.66 crores from selling the Paper Based QR Tickets and more than INR 1.5 lakhs by selling Mobile Based QR Code Tickets.
Recently UPI based ticketing system has also been introduced at Sealdah Metro station of Green Line 1 for the convenience of the passengers. This ticketing system is also gaining popularity as more and more commuters are opting for this alternative mode of ticketing system which has helped them to get rid of the problem of changes at the booking counters. Since its introduction from May 7, metro authorities have earned more than INR 43,000/- by selling such tickets through UPI mode.
